Sometimes I get so caught up in the passion of a shoot that I forget to set all the right bells and whistles on my DSLR, leaving me with a washed out digital image (not a bad photo as-is but this little beauty's hair is really dark chestnut and her cheeks are much rosier!). That's where Adobe's Photoshop Elements program comes to my rescue, and it can save you, too! The software is not too expensive and easy to use.

and image below after tweaking the contrast...and, just a little tweaking, I might add. Too much of a good thing usually leaves you with a hangover...the same goes with image manipulation so go lightly on the Contrast slider under Enhance, Adjust Lighting. Contrast helps punch up the color and puts the rosy back in those cheeks!
Disclaimer: DO try this at home...DO take time to check out all the fantastic controls on your DSLR camera...DO remember to use them...but have some image editing software handy, too. Your aching head will thank you for it.
